SCA Thrive at Work Workshop 2023 Online Series 1

Implementing the Thrive at Work Workshop Program!
This 6 workshop program is designed for business owners, HR teams, and branch managers – for both management firms and suppliers

  • 6 x 90 minute workshops (approx. $166 per workshop)
  • $995 including GST per person
  • Approx 14 per workshop

            Session Time:  11am (WA), 1pm (NSW), 3pm (NZ)

Join other industry peers, across 6 workshops (1 workshop a fortnight) and by the end of the program, you will have:

  1. A thorough understanding of the benefits of focusing on wellbeing in your organisation
  2. Applied a clear methodology to take stock of your current wellbeing practices
  3. Understanding of the tools and resources available to support the development of a tailored mental health and wellbeing strategy
  4. Identified key actions and developed a plan to move towards becoming a thriving organisation
  5. Built a network of strata industry colleagues who are involved in the development of worker wellbeing strategies.


WORKSHOP 1: GETTING STARTED

  1. Why invest in Mental Health and Wellbeing
  2. The Thrive at Work Framework
  3. First Step of the Thrive at Work Implementation Process: Prepare

Prior to workshop 2 you will need to:

  1. Read the Thrive at Work toolkit (p. 69-76.)
  2. Complete the following tasks:
    • Construct a strong business case
    • Identify a core team and commit resources
    • Gain employee engagement
  3. Familiarise yourself with the pillar ‘mitigate illness’ (p. 18-29 of the toolkit)
  
WORKSHOP 2: MITIGATING ILLNESS
  1. Start the Second Step of the Thrive at Work Implementation Process: Evaluate
  2. Provide an overview of the ‘Thrive at Work Assessment Tool’ that you will use to evaluate your organisation’s current mental health and wellbeing practices
  3. Review the evidence and rationale for mitigating illness
  4. Take a detailed look at the Mitigate illness section of the assessment tool, so that you are ready to assess your organisations ability to monitor, accommodate, and treat illness, ill-health and injury

Prior to workshop 3 you will need to:

  1. Familiarise yourself with the assessment tool.
  2. Complete your assessment of your organisation’s ability to help workers who are experiencing mental illness to get better, and stay in or return to productive work (Mitigate Illness).
  3. Review the section of the toolkit on Preventing Harm (p.32-51).


WORKSHOP 3: PREVENT HARM – SMART Work Design

  1. Review the evidence and rationale for preventing harm
  2. Consider how SMART work design can help to prevent harm
  3. Take a detailed look at the Prevent Harm section of the assessment tool, so that you are ready to assess your organisations ability to minimise risk and protect against risk

Prior to workshop 4 you will need to:

  1. Complete your assessment of your organisation’s ability to minimise risk and protect again harm (Prevent Harm).
  2. Review the section of the toolkit on Promote Thriving (p.52-68)


WORKSHOP 4: PROMOTE THRIVING – Assessment Tool

  1. Review the evidence and rationale for promoting thriving
  2. Take a detailed look at the Promote Thriving section of the assessment tool, so that you are ready to assess your organisations ability to optimise wellbeing and generate future capabilities

Prior to workshop 5 you will need to:

  1. Complete your assessment of your organisation’s ability to (Promote Thriving).
  2. Review the section of the toolkit on Planning (p.89.97)


WORKSHOP 5: PLANNING

Start the Third Step of the Thrive at Work Implementation Process: Plan

  1. Review the results of your evaluation/assessment
  2. Consider the different steps involved in reviewing or establishing you wellbeing strategy and planning specific wellbeing actions.

Prior to workshop 6 you will need to:

  1. Complete your wellbeing strategy and action planning
  2. Review the section of the toolkit on tracking progress (p.98-106)


WORKSHOP 6: TRACK

  1. Finish with the Fourth Step of the Thrive at Work Implementation Process: Track
  2. Share your business wellbeing strategy and action plan
