Are you prepared for the new Work Health and Safety Laws?  Do you know how the changes to this legislation will affect the way you manage strata schemes?

In this session DMIRS Regulatory Support Division General Manager Bill Mitchell provides information on the new WHS Laws and shares insights on the Worksafe inspectorate’s approach to the laws. Wal Dobrow offers in depth guidance on how this legislation affects strata and what you can do to minimise the risk of non-compliance. Other subjections in this session include State Administrative Tribunal updates and rulings by Sean Macfarlane and the legalities on debt recovery by Pino Monaco.

The 2022 Law Week afternoon session explores the personal obligations of strata managers and their employers for health and safety in their workplace.

Attendees will receive an update on changes to insurance Laws and what to do in the event a Professional Indemnity claim is made against them. Learn some insights on the negotiations and changes of the ST(G)R being considered by Landgate and how this will affect strata managers, owners and strata communities.

Hear about recent strata case updates from Mark Atkinson from Atkinson Legal, and what these cases can tell us about the future of strata.

Lastly, learn what makes a strata management agreement invalid and what the consequences if you’re found to have an invalid agreement.
